Terms

Consignment terms

  1. The seller is a private individual who owns the board. They describe it honestly, including defects and repairs, and provide accurate photos.
  2. Listing is free, with no minimum duration. Swell&Wood approves each board, writes the listing and sets the price in agreement with the seller. The seller may withdraw the board at any time until it is sold; if they sell it elsewhere, they let us know immediately.
  3. The sale takes place on swellwood.fr: the buyer pays Swell&Wood, which acts as an intermediary.
  4. Shipping is handled by the seller within 3 working days of the sale, with suitable packaging and a tracked, insured delivery. The seller sends us the tracking number.
  5. Seller payment: Swell&Wood pays the sale price, minus a 15% commission, by bank transfer within 7 days of the buyer receiving the board.
  6. If something goes wrong (board not shipped, not as described or lost), the sale is cancelled, the buyer is refunded and no commission is due.
  7. Buyer information: consignment boards are sold by private individuals, which is stated on each listing.

Your questions

How do I sell a collector surfboard?

Send us photos of your board and its main details (shaper, year, dimensions, condition) using our dedicated form. We review it and, if it fits our selection, we list it for sale on Swell&Wood. Swell&Wood acts as an intermediary: you remain the owner of the board until it is sold.

Which boards do you accept?

Vintage, rare or collector boards: renowned shapers, old or iconic models, limited editions, boards with a story. Each board is assessed individually.

How much does it cost?

Listing is free. We only take a 15% commission on the sale price, if and only if your board sells.

Who handles shipping?

You do. As soon as the sale is confirmed, we send you the buyer’s delivery details: you pack the board carefully and ship it.

Does the board need to be in perfect condition?

No. A collector board can show signs of its history. Simply describe its condition honestly and include photos of any defects (repairs, dings, yellowing).

How is the sale price set?

Together. You tell us your asking price, we give you our opinion based on rarity, condition and the market, and the board is listed at the agreed price.

When do I get paid?

Once the buyer has received the board and confirmed it matches the listing, we pay you the sale price, minus our commission, by bank transfer within 7 days.
